Protecting Your Privacy

At First Trade Union Bank we know that our customers share highly sensitive personal and financial information with us. We understand the need to keep such information secure. We value your trust and handle personal information with care.

Information We Gather

As part of providing you financial products or services, we gather, retain, and use nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:

  • Information we receive from you on applications or other loan and account forms, such as your name, address, income, credit references;
  • Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others, such as your account balances and payment histories; and 
  • Information we receive from credit bureaus, such as your credit worthiness.

The information gathered and retained by First Trade Union Bank is used for specific business purposes, such as approving or administering your account, complying with banking regulations, protecting against fraud, and developing a better understanding of your financial needs to provide you with products and services of value to you.

We believe that the responsible use of information benefits our customers by enabling us to understand their specific financial needs and to offer products and services tailored to meet those needs.

We may also share information about transactions on your account (such as account balance or payment history) or experiences with you within the bank or with any affiliates we may have. We may also reveal specific information about your accounts if you request or authorize it, to help complete a transaction initiated by you, to a credit reporting agency in accordance with standard banking industry practice, to third party vendors that assist us in servicing your loan or deposit account, with government entities in response to subpoenas or as permitted or required by law.

How We Protect Your Information

At First Trade Union Bank, we maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.  We restrict employee access to your nonpublic personal information to only those employees who have a business reason to know such information in order to provide products or services to you.

We educate our employees about the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy throughout our bank.

During the continuation of your ongoing relationship with First Trade Union Bank, we will advise you of our privacy policy and practices annually.  We will continue to adhere to the privacy policies and practices described herein even in the event you no longer have a customer relationship with us, or if you become an inactive customer (without an active account relationship).

Maintaining Accuracy of Personal Information

First Trade Union Bank continually strives to maintain up-to-date, complete and accurate customer and account information.  If at any time you believe any information retained by First Trade Union Bank is inaccurate or incomplete, please call us toll-free at 1-800-242-0272.  We will investigate the problem, and if it is determined that the information is incorrect, we will take appropriate action quickly and according to industry practices and applicable law.

Privacy on our website

Visitors to our web site remain anonymous. We do not collect identifying information about visitors to our site. We may use standard software to collect non-identifying information about our visitors, such as:

  • Date and time our site was accessed
  • IP address (A numeric address given to servers)
  • Web browser used
  • City, State, and County

First Trade Union Bank may use this information to create summary statistics and to determine the level of interest in information available on our site.

Some areas of our Web site like our Guest book require information, such as your e-mail address or name, to enable you to correspond with us. In these cases, we collect your information necessary to interact with you. If you do not interact with us, any personal information, such as your e-mail address, is not collected.

How We Handle E-Mail

If you send us e-mail, we may retain the content of the e-mail and your e-mail address in order to respond to questions or concerns that you might have.

E-mail is not necessarily secure against interception.  That is why we use DataMotion to send confidential information back to you. About "Cookies"

When you log on to First Trade Union Bank Online, we use a "cookie" as part of our interaction with your browser. A "cookie" is a small text file placed on your hard drive by our Web Page server. Cookies are commonly used on Web sites and do not harm your system. We use cookies to establish and maintain your First Trade Union Bank Online session. These cookies do not collect personally identifiable or confidential information. These cookies expire or are deleted after you log off and end your First Trade Union Online session.

Looking out for children
